On May 2, 2026, Lindol Comics was one of over 40 creatives that participated in Free Comic Book Day 2026/Comics Giveaway Day 2026 (Araw Ng Libreng Komiks). Sponsored by Comic Odyssey, the annual event not only celebrated our collective love for the medium, but also gave us the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones along the way.

Patrons and creatives were allowed to choose two (2) comic books from over 42 different titles. My choices: Something Is Killing The Children: Road To Slaughter (Comics Giveaway Day Edition) and The Nice House on the Lake: Book ONE (Free Comic Book Day Edition).

My FCBD/CGD 2026 Haul for the day.

From my perspective, the annual event was well received with patrons either lining up—a snake-like coil around the Robinson’s Galleria Main Atrium—for their free books or immediately heading to tables to buy local indie comic books or request for sketches.

On behalf of Randy Valiente, we would like to again extend our gratitude to Sandy, Ate Rowena, Nick, Ate Ning, Izza, and the rest of the Comic Odyssey family for making Free Comic Book Day (Araw Ng Libreng Komiks) and the inaugural Comics Giveaway Day (CGD) a resounding success.
